Account Director
Jennifer Bemisderfer brings nearly 12 years of strategic communications and media relations experience to her role as account director at BRG Communications. Bemisderfer draws on a mix of technology, healthcare and consumer education experience to lead public awareness and consumer outreach campaigns, as well as strategic B2B initiatives on behalf of key clients. An Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional, her expertise lies in the development of communications strategies that reach target audiences with compelling messages and deliver measurable results.
Bemisderfer joined BRG from Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, where she led a team tasked with providing strategic counsel, issues management and consumer media outreach for Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing Group. During her tenure at Waggener Edstrom, she led PR campaigns on behalf of Microsoft to increase public awareness regarding consumer online privacy, safety and security. In addition, she led the development of an ongoing thought leadership platform designed to position the company as a global leader in cybersecurity.
Previous experience includes five years on the communications team at the Consumer Electronics Association, producer of the International CES and the largest consumer technology trade association in the world. Bemisderfer led environmental communications on behalf of the association, directing PR campaigns to increase consumer awareness regarding electronics recycling and energy efficiency and leading the national media launch of the consumer electronics industry’s first ever environmental sustainability report. Bemisderfer also served as a media spokesperson on behalf of the association, and worked closely with the wireless, audio and automotive electronics sectors on initiatives to increase consumer awareness and improve the retail experience. Prior experience also includes strategic communications and media relations on behalf of associations, non-profits and healthcare and education technology companies.
Bemisderfer is a graduate of North Carolina State University and is a member of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-NCC) and Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR). She is co-chair of the PRSA-NCC APR committee’s APR Readiness Review sub-committee and serves on the pro-bono committee for WWPR.
