As the Director of Social Media at BRG Communications (BRG), Mitchell provides senior counsel across agency account teams and delivers unique solutions that align with the growing needs of corporations in an exceedingly online and social world. Mitchell specializes in the creation and ongoing development of social media strategies that motivate people to engage and act.
In 2008, Mitchell founded JMPR Communication (JMPR), where she combined her passion for social media with her public relations experience. At JMPR, Mitchell strategized and implemented large-scale social media programs for B2B and B2C companies, including Fortune 500 companies. JMPR’s clients included household names such as Bumble Bee Foods, CreditReport.com, Hawaiian Springs, Qualcomm, San Diego Museum of Art, and WD-40. JMPR also served niche clients including ANX, Artistic Hub, CPC Strategy, Maxava, PacificHealth Labs, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Shavlik Technologies, and Triton Media Group.
Mitchell is skilled in the development of brand new social media programs, seasonal campaigns, corporate social media policy and moderation, blog development and ongoing strategy, content creation and maintenance, and blogger relations’ campaigns. Additionally, Mitchell provides corporate social media training for companies that want to execute social media programs internally.
Mitchell brings more than twelve years of traditional public relations experience to the table from long-standing tech and healthcare public relations agencies including McQuerter Group and Mentus. Mitchell also worked in-house in the Public Relations department at Qualcomm wherein she saw the need for evolution in communication and implemented the first ‘new media’ program for Qualcomm Internet Services.
Mitchell is a skilled speaker and has taught many social media boot camps. She has also appeared as a guest-speaker at several universities. She graduated from The University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Creative Writing.
